Connor Usowski recorded a no-hitter and a career-high 21 strikeouts on Tuesday in Port Byron baseball’s 8-0 victory over Pulaski at home.
The senior added two RBIs, two hits and two runs scored at the dish.
Nathan Usowski put up two RBIs, one hit and one run scored. Sawyer Rooker racked up two hits and one RBI, while Alex LaFramboise had one RBI, one hit and one run scored.
Kaleb Weatherwax came away with a pair of hits. Tyler Hennigan, Dylan Howell, Matthew Howell and Weatherwax each scored one run.
Boys baseball
Auburn 7, Fulton 3: Despite committing five errors on Tuesday, the Maroons came away with another win over Fulton. On offense, Carson Bona drove in two runs and had one hit. Steven Ambroggio, Charles Losani and Cole Pettigrass each had one RBI. Cal Maher and Myles McBride scored two runs each, while Jacob Adams, Caleb Pidlypchak and Michael Ambroggio scored one run apiece. In three innings of relief, Jacob Morrell struck out four and did not allow an earned run.

Jordan-Elbridge 11, Weedsport 7: The Eagles scored eight runs over the first two innings on Tuesday in a home win. Charles Klock and Gage Davey drove in two runs apiece. David Dominick III and Tre Ahern each posted two hits and one RBI. Nolan Brunelle had a team-high three hits and scored four runs. Ryan Horrell Jr., Ahern and Davey scored two runs each. On the mound, Brunelle struck out three batters in his inning of relief. For the Wolverines, Nico Giacolone totaled three RBIs, one hit, one run scored and one walk. Kameron Buchanan ended with two RBIs, one hit and one walk. Patrick Whitman and Michael LoMascolo tallied two runs scored each. Moravia 11, Groton 0: Allowing just one hit on Monday, the Blue Devils dominated Groton at home in five innings. In his four innings on the bump, Dillon Palmer struck out seven and surrendered one hit. Carson Andrews sat down a pair of batters in his inning of work. Eli Landis paced the Blue Devils’ offense with two RBIs, one hit and one run scored. Thomas Palmer picked up two hits, two runs scored and one RBI, while Hunter Boynton and Dillon Palmer had one RBI, one hit and one run scored apiece. Jairen Francis scored a pair of runs, walked twice and stole one base. Ian Proper and Haydin Walker both scored one run.
Victor 13, Auburn 4: The Maroons surrendered six third-inning runs on Thursday in a loss at The Ripken Experience in South Carolina. Losani and Adams each finished with one RBI. Steven Ambroggio, Bona and Losani picked up two hits apiece. Adams ended with one hit. Pettigrass, Steven Ambroggio, Morrell and Losani scored one run each. Morrell struck out two and surrendered one earned run during his inning on the bump.
Westfield 13, Auburn 3: After scoring three first-inning runs Wednesday, the Maroons were held scoreless in their loss at The Ripken Experience in South Carolina. Owen Casler, Morrell and Adams each drove in one run. McBride, Pidlypchak, Bona, Steven Ambroggio, Morrell and Casler each had one hit. McBride, Steven Ambroggio and Morrell each scored one run. On the mound, Grant Pinckney struck out three and allowed two earned runs in three innings.Â

Union Springs/Port Byron 181, Marathon 193: Michael Culver was the medalist with a score of 37 on Tuesday in the Wolves’ home win. Stephen Case shot a 38. Henry Kinnaman finished with a score of 44, while Hunter Baity totaled a 62.Â
Weedsport 222, Altmar-Parish-Williamstown 301: Andrew Powers posted a score of 40 on Tuesday in his team’s road victory. Samuel Lowery and Alessandro Sorci each shot a 44. Owen Jeffers and Evan Preuss posted scores of 45 and 49, respectively.
Groton 169, Southern Cayuga 176: Daniel Johnson shot a 40 on Tuesday in Southern Cayuga’s road loss. Logan Nasholts had a score of 42. Landon Hauptfleisch and James Denman recorded scores of 46 and 48, respectively.
Groton 170, Union Springs/Port Byron 189: The Wolves lost their first match of the season on Monday on the road. Michael Culver led the team with a score of 43. Stephen Case and Henry Kinnaman ended with scores of 44 and 46, respectively. Paige Smith posted a 56.

Cazenovia 218, Skaneateles 231: Cate Gunderson shot a 54 on Tuesday in the Lakers’ home loss. Gigi Johnson ended with a 56.
Girls lacrosse
Skaneateles 16, Homer 3: Madison Rossi recorded a hat trick on Tuesday in the Lakers’ road win. Grace Marquardt, Paige Willard and Mara Stanton dropped in two goals each. Ana Nichols, Maura Leonardis, Kathryn Falkenberg, Lily Kennedy, Sophia Nichols, Claire Holden, Rowan Thompson and Allie Michel each netted one goal. Marquardt and Stanton dished out two assists each. Ana Nichols, Sophia Nichols, Kennedy, Holden, Michel and Willard had one assist each. Goalie Brooke Coffey tallied four saves.

Port Byron 20, Pulaski 6: Scoring nine third-inning runs on Tuesday, the Panthers came away with a home win. Jenna Jump allowed two earned runs and sat down 11 batters during a five-inning complete game. She supported her pitching effort with a team-high three RBIs and three hits. Luciana DeBois and Alivia Swarthout each had two RBIs, two hits and two runs scored. Bethany Jump and Catarina DeAngelis each tallied two RBIs and one hit. Raelee McDowell racked up six stolen bases, three runs scored, two hits, two walks and one RBI, while Mallory Mills totaled four stolen bases, two hits, two runs scored, one RBI and one walk. Cameryn Brundage concluded with four runs scored, two hits, two walks and one RBI. Liliana Berkey and Sophia Staring drove in one run each.
Tioga 19, Southern Cayuga 10
Union Springs 14, Newfield 0: Paityn Delaney recorded a no-hitter on Monday in the Wolves' win at home. The junior sat down 12 batters in the five-inning shutout victory. Offensively, Delaney had an RBI and a triple. Katelyn Herrling, Taylor Bergerstock and Lily Paul each racked up two hits apiece. The Wolves now sit at 8-0 on the season. They are back in action on Wednesday at home against Groton.Â

For Weedsport, Arieanna Giacolone had a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh. Bella Ripley, Katie Schafer, Taylor Quinn and Mallory Munn also contributed one hit apiece. Pitching a complete game, Munn struck out eight and allowed four earned runs.
Moravia 17, Groton 5: Kylee Cooper and Lashley Heredia Castillo drove in three runs apiece on Monday in the Blue Devils’ home win. Heredia Castillo added three runs scored, two hits and one walk, while Cooper also chipped in one hit and one run scored. Lily Heim had three runs scored, two RBIs, two hits and one walk. Taleigh Sheppard tallied two RBIs, two walks, one hit and one walk. Emily Austin and Brooke Proper each had one RBI. Alexis Freier finished with four runs scored, three walks, one hit and one run scored, while also allowing one earned run and striking out four in her six innings in the circle.
Sandy Creek 6, Port Byron 3: The Panthers surrendered three runs in the top of the eighth inning on Monday in their loss at home. On offense, Luciana DeBois chipped in two RBIs, one hit, one walk and one run scored. Mallory Mills tallied one RBI and one hit. Raelee McDowell and Bethany Jump each put up one hit, one walk and one run scored. In the circle, Jenna Jump allowed four earned runs and struck out 13 batters in eight innings.
Boys tennis
Watkins Glen 4, Southern Cayuga 1: Sophia Vitale and Victor VanDeWater won Southern Cayuga’s lone matchup on Tuesday in the team’s home loss. They took their doubles matchup in straight sets (6-2, 6-2). In singles action, Alex Overhiser fell in three sets (3-6, 6-1, 6-3). Jordan Heimann (6-2, 6-0) and Jake Gentry (6-3, 6-2) each lost their singles match in straight sets. The duo of Kalub Allen and Daegan Miller lost their contest in two sets as well (6-1, 6-4).Â
Skaneateles 5, Phoenix 0: The Lakers swept their matchup at home on Monday. In singles action, Noah Soderberg, Jake Salzhauer and Peter Salzhauer each won by a score of 10-0. Asher Kozub and James Lovier won their doubles contest by a score of 10-1, while the duo of Case Pavlus and Patrick Scott took their matchup by a score of 10-2.
Outdoor track and field
Union Springs: Kurt Akins recorded a personal-best 11:03 for first place in the boys 3,200-meter run on Tuesday in the Wolves’ home meet against Lansing and Dryden. In the 100-meter dash, Jack Gregory and Rocco Testa earned second and fourth with times of 11.70 and 11.90, respectively. Orion Rusinko placed fourth in the shot put. For the girls, Tessa Love took first in the 400-meter dash and the high jump. Ellen Crowley came away third and fourth in the 1,500- and 800-meter run, respectively. Gina Suslik placed fourth in the shot put.
