Baseball: Myles McBride, AuburnÂ
McBride delivered his best performance as a Maroon on the mound in a 3-0 win over Henninger on April 28. Striking out a career-high 16 batters, the junior allowed just three hits and one walk in his 6.1 innings. He aided his cause at the plate by driving in one run. Over the Maroons’ other pair of games last week, McBride collected two hits, one RBI and one run scored. Through 31 innings pitched this season, McBride has sat down 47 batters and owns a 2.26 ERA. He’s also struck out double-digit batters in half of his six starts.Â

Baseball: Nico Giacolone, Weedsport
The Wolverines won all three of their games last week with the help of the all-around play of their senior. Giacolone delivered four strikeouts and allowed one earned run in three innings on the bump in an 8-3 win over Onondaga Central on April 28. He also added two walks, two stolen bases and two runs scored on offense. He then posted seven RBIs, three runs scored, two hits, one walk and one stolen base in a 22-3 rout over Pulaski on April 30. In a 7-4 victory over Port Byron on Friday, the hurler struck out five Panthers and surrendered one earned run in a complete game.Â

Softball: Luciana DeBois, Port Byron
Tying a career high in runs driven in last week, DeBois paced the Panthers in their 14-2 win over Cato-Meridian in five innings. The sophomore racked up five RBIs, one home run, three hits, two runs scored, two stolen bases and one walk in the home victory. She has been Port Byron's top option at the plate, as she has collected 25 RBIs, 21 hits, 19 runs scored, seven walks, three home runs and a .553 average in 38 at-bats this season. In 66 at-bats as a freshman, she tallied 34 hits, 21 runs scored, 20 RBIs, seven walks and a .515 batting average.
Boys tennis: Jake Salzhauer, Skaneateles
With Skaneateles sitting at 9-0 on the season, Salzhauer has been a key cog in the machine for the Lakers. The senior has won all six of his singles matches thus far, and owns a record of 3-0 in doubles competition. He picked up all three of those wins last week with teammate Peter Salzhauer. The duo took each matchup without losing a set or allowing a single point. In solo action last week, Jake won both of his contests by also not surrendering a set or a point. He has yet to lose a set or allow a point by himself in 2025.Â
Girls outdoor track and field: Isabel Rossbach, Southern CayugaÂ
The senior earned first place in four events on April 28 in the Southern Cayuga girls’ 86-14 victory over Groton at home. She recorded a time of 17.50 in the top spot in the 100-meter hurdles, while also placing first in the 800-meter run with a 2:41.90. In the discus, Rossbach came away with a first-place finish by posting a distance of 73 feet. She rounded out her performance by recording a distance of 13 feet, 4.25 inches for first place in the long jump.
