Two athletes from Southern Cayuga girls track and field qualified for the state championships on Thursday at the Section IV state qualifiers atUnion-Endicott High School.
Isabel Rossbach qualified for states in the pentathlon with a 2414. In the 400-meter hurdles, Charli Bennett placed second with a 1:08.96 to advance to the finals.
Also competing at the championships,Arianna Daviscame away in fourth with a 13.15 in the 100-meter run. CennediMcCarthy concluded with a leap of 5 feet, 2 inches in the high jump for fourth.
The squad ofIsla Grimaldi,Alexandria Morgan,Alycia Orona and Bennett took 12th in the 4x400-meter relay with a 4:23.93. In the 4x100-meter relay,Adelaide Larsen,Lillian Stowell, Bennett and Davis ended with a 53.75 for 15th.
For the boys, Leif Gunderson placed 10th and 12th in the 200- and 100-meter runs with times of 23.52 and 11.61, respectively. Paul Hayden posted a 4:34.01 in the 1,600-meter run for 13th. In the 4x400-meter relay, the team ofIan Gentry,Collin Sweet, Hayden and Gunderson came in 11th with a3:38.62.
