Another national coffee chain could be joining its competitors on Grant Avenue in Auburn.
Drive-thru chain 7 Brew Coffee has filed a site plan application with the Auburn Planning Board for a location at 153 Grant Ave., which was previously a Rite Aid.
The board will review the company's application at its next meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, at Memorial City Hall.
According to the application, construction is anticipated to last a few months, beginning with demolition of the former drugstore at the corner of Grant and Standart avenues in September. A 540-square-foot gray brick building with blue metal roofing and a separate 330-square-foot cooler would replace it. The rest of the property would include 14 parking spaces and landscaping.
The property's entrance and exit driveways would remain the same, the application said, and the double-sided drive-thru would be able to accommodate a queue of up to 26 vehicles.
The chain's director of operations, Nick Vidal, expressed his excitement to 水果派AV about 7 Brew Coffee possibly coming to Auburn.
"We're the Chick-fil-A of coffee," he said.
The chain, which its first location in Arkansas in 2017, now has about 350 in 32 states.
Noting the success the company has seen at new locations, Vidal said to not be intimidated by long lines and stressed that coffee is secondary to customer service at 7 Brew.
The chain's menu features classic coffee and tea drinks, smoothies, energy drinks and its original seven coffee concoctions. They include the Smooth 7, an Irish cream and white chocolate breve; the Brunette, a hazelnut and caramel mocha; and the Cinnamon Roll, a brown sugar cinnamon and white chocolate breve.
Customers can also make their orders a Triple 7, which adds six shots of espresso for "an extra boost," according to the company's website.
Vidal said if the Auburn location opens, it will have the capacity to make more than 20,000 unique beverages thanks to different flavors, ingredients and more.
"Your imagination can run wild," he said.
