The Auburn Doubledays will聽begin their fifth season in the聽Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League on Tuesday, with their home opener following on Thursday.
Auburn opens its season on the road against the Oneonta Outlaws. Following another road game on Wednesday against the Syracuse Salt Cats, the D鈥檇ays will host the Geneva Red Wings on Thursday.聽
Doors are set to open at Falcon Park at 5:30 p.m., with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
After coaching the Watertown Rapids of the PGCBL last season, Matthew Petrossi will lead the D'days this year. Petrossi coached the Rapids to a 23-19 record last year, while the D'days ended the season at 24-18.聽
Along with a new head coach, Auburn will feature three players from Cayuga County: pitchers Owen Birchard and Connor Usowski, and utility man Mac Maher.

Pitching 36.1 innings for the D'days last season, Birchard totaled 30 strikeouts, one win and a 5.94 ERA in seven starts. During his freshman season with Bryant University, the former Maroon racked up 29 strikeouts, two wins and a 1.72 ERA in 15.2 innings of work.聽
Usowski closed his tenure at Port Byron in 2025 by arguably having his best season yet. The southpaw collected 122 strikeouts, five wins and a 1.14 ERA over 55.70 innings pitched. The Le Moyne College commit finished with 461 strikeouts total during his time with the Panthers, which history.
In his final season with the Maroons in 2024, Maher posted a .333 batting average and a .471 slugging percentage. He also accumulated 17 hits, 13 runs scored, eight walks and seven RBIs in 51 at-bats.聽
