Of the next two stores opening in Fingerlakes Mall, only one is for shoppers.
The other is for their dogs.
Opening in the Aurelius mall June 2, next to 20th Century Toys, will be Crafters Corner, run by longtime craft vendor Keshia Laird. The store will sell items from more than nine vendors during mall hours Thursdays through Sundays, and will hold a grand opening celebration June 3-5 with free coffee and doughnuts, as well as raffles.
Available at Crafters Corner will be discount Avon products, woodworking, hemp and bead jewelry, hand-painted ceramics and more, Laird said.
"Lots of odds and ends," she said. "Yard sale stuff to you-name-it."
Fingerlakes Mall celebrated its 35th anniversary in April with a big party in the room where…
Laird has sold items at the mall's Family Fun Days, but waited until she could secure a few additional vendors before setting up Crafters Corner there permanently.
"I wanted to be at one spot," she said. "I know there's quite a bit of traffic there on the weekends."
Opening June 4 in the former KB Toys will be Dog'Gone Workout, a full-service dog gym and doggie daycare. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and offer individual and group play in several play areas based on dogs' size and energy level.
