Leonard was sentenced for second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, one of three charges he faced after a search of his residence by the Finger Lakes Drug Task Force in August produced more than 40 grams of cocaine, a loaded semiautomatic handgun and more than $5,000. He was also charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.Â
Also on Tuesday, Lori Skinkle, 36, of Auburn, was sentenced to five years in state prison followed by three years of post-release supervision for third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Skinkle was arrested in September after the task force searched a residence she shared with Leigh Rusin. The search produced 35 grams of cocaine in addition to digital scales, packaging materials and U.S. currency. Skinkle and Rusin were each charged with third- and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Rusin was in court as well on Tuesday for a motion argument.Â
