The Justice Department Inspector General has released a harshly critical report about the FBI's handling of investigations into allegations of child exploitation. And this report identifies multiple ways in which the FBI is continuing to fall short in these types of investigations.
The following defendants were sentenced in Cayuga County Court in Auburn the week of Monday, Feb. 3, to Friday, Feb. 7:
•ÌýSakai Grimes, 22, of Auburn, was sentenced Feb. 4 by Judge Jon Budelmann to six months in the Cayuga County Jail and 10 years of probation for third-degree rape.
• Brandan Ellis, 24, of Weedsport, was sentenced Feb. 4 by Budelmann to time served and five years of probation for third-degree burglary.
• Joseph Trathen, 22, of Auburn, was sentenced Feb. 4 by Budelmann to six months incarceration and five years of probation for aggravated family offense, and a concurrent three years of probation for second-degree criminal contempt.Ìý
•ÌýLori Skinkle, 36, of Auburn, was sentenced Feb. 4 by Budelmann to five years in state prison and three years of post-release supervision for third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.Ìý
• Walter R. Leonard, 45, of Auburn, was sentenced Feb. 4 by Budelmann toÌýseven years in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision for second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
• Roger Burns, 67, was sentenced Feb. 6 by Judge Thomas Leone to three years of probation for a plea to fourth-degree attempted grand larceny.
• Joseph Cardinale, 38, of Auburn, was sentenced Feb. 7 by Judge Steve Buschman to six months incarceration and five years of probation for a plea to first-degree falsifying business records.
