Union Springs baseball scored five first-inning runs on Wednesday to take down Moravia 10-0 in its home opener at Union Springs High School.
Jack Walters picked up the win on the mound, allowing two hits and striking out six in a five-inning complete game. He supported himself at the plate with three RBIs, two hits and one run scored. Shane Perkins posted three RBIs, three hits and one run scored.
Asa Brown, Alex Smith and Lucas Witter each drove in one run. Aaron Johnson ended with three runs scored, one hit and one walk. Anthony DeAngelis tallied a pair of hits and one run scored.
For Moravia, Eli Landis and Dillon Palmer picked up the Blue Devils' two hits. Hunter Boynton and Dominick Todd had one walk apiece. Palmer struck out three and allowed five earned runs in his four innings on the bump.Â
