The Justice Department Inspector General has released a harshly critical report about the FBI's handling of investigations into allegations of child exploitation. And this report identifies multiple ways in which the FBI is continuing to fall short in these types of investigations.
The following defendants were sentenced in Cayuga County Court in Auburn the weeks of Monday, Sept. 16, to Friday, Sept. 27:
• Chiquita T. King, 38, of Syracuse, was sentenced Sept. 24 by Judge Jon Budelmann to 1.5 to three years in state prison for fourth-degree grand larceny.
• Scott L. Matheney, 52, of Auburn, was sentenced Sept. 24 by Judge Budelmann to five years of probation, starting with the first six months in the county jail, for aggravated family offense.
• Joel F. Mathilda, 25, was sentenced Sept. 24 by Judge Budelmann to 2 1/3 to seven years in state prison for third-degree grand larceny and 364 days in the Cayuga County Jail for fifth-degree conspiracy.
• Samantha L. Neil, 40, of Auburn, was sentenced Sept. 24 by Judge Budelmann to five years of probation, with DWI conditions, for driving while intoxicated with a previous conviction within 10 years.
• Ratasha J. Carpenter, 30, of Auburn, was sentenced Sept. 26 by Judge Thomas Leone to one to three years in state prison for first-degree criminal contempt.
• John T. Robinson, 35, was sentenced Sept. 26 by Judge Leone to one to three years in state prison for first-degree criminal contempt.
