Events will get started in Fair Haven, whose Save Our Fourth Association will celebrate the holiday Thursday, July 3, through Sunday, July 6. Here's the full schedule of events in the village:

Thursday, July 3

• 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Craft fair at village park
• 4 p.m. to sold out: Chicken barbecue at the Church Street pavilion
• 4 p.m. to midnight: Beer tent and food trucks at the Church Street pavilion
• 4 p.m. to midnight: Carnival with Insane Inflatables at the Church Street field
• 7 p.m.: Mile-long parade
• 8:30 p.m. to midnight: Music by Uptown Groove (jazz, R&B, funk) at the Church Street Pavilion

Friday, July 4

• 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Craft fair at village park
• Noon: Fair Haven Yacht Club Boat Parade (meet by the club)
• 1 p.m. to midnight: Carnival with Insane Inflatables at the Church Street field
• 3 p.m. to sold out: Chicken barbecue at the Church Street pavilion

• 6 to 10 p.m.: Music by Dangerous Type (rock) at the Church Street pavilion

Saturday, July 5

• 9 a.m.: The 20th anniversary Walk/Run for Hospice of Central New York and of the Finger Lakes, with signup beginning at 8 a.m. at the Church Street field. More than 400 have already registered. Last year's race of 417 people raised $23,000 for Hospice.
• 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Classic car show by the Bayside Cruisers on South Lake Street
• 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Craft fair at village park
• Noon to midnight: Carnival with Insane Inflatables at the Church Street field
• 12:30 p.m.: Children's parade (children meet at the fire department at noon)
• 1 p.m. to sold out: Chicken barbecue at the Church Street pavilion
• 1 p.m. to midnight: Beer tent and food trucks at the Church Street pavilion
• 1 to 4 p.m.: Music by Mark Nanni (jam/rock) at the Church Street pavilion
• 4 to 8 p.m.: Cornhole tournament at the Church Street pavilion
• 5 to 8 p.m.: Music by Hattie Lewis Band (rock) at the Church Street pavilion
• 9:15 p.m.: Wall of Fire around Little Sodus Bay

Cayuga County's annual fireworks, with music by the Syracuse Orchestra, will begin at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 3, at the Emerson Park Pavilion in Owasco. The orchestra will perform of classical favorites, patriotic songs and popular standards. Admission is free and open to the public, but there is a county parking fee of $5. On Friday, July 4, the Owasco Fire Department will host its annual chicken barbecue at 10:30 a.m. and parade at 1 p.m.

Dinners are available at the station, 7174 Owasco Road, Owasco. They cost $15 and include a half-chicken, salt potatoes, baked beans, a roll and a cookie; 1,200 are available.

The parade will begin at the intersection of Second Avenue and Letchworth Street.

The village of Aurora will observe the holiday with its annual delivery of the Declaration of Independence by post rider to Ledyard Town Hall at 11 a.m. Friday, July 4, followed by a reading of the document. There will be refreshments and light music, and the reading will take place rain or shine at the town hall, 1099 Poplar Ridge Road, Ledyard.

Also that day, The Press of Robert LoMascolo at 2211 Moonshine Road will print the Declaration of Independence at 3 p.m. There will be light refreshments as well.

Both events are presented by the Aurora Ledyard Historical Society.
