The Justice Department Inspector General has released a harshly critical report about the FBI's handling of investigations into allegations of child exploitation. And this report identifies multiple ways in which the FBI is continuing to fall short in these types of investigations.
The following defendants were sentenced in Cayuga County Court in Auburn the weeks of Monday, April 14, to Friday, April 25:Ìý
• Yakez Cornett, of Ithaca, was sentenced April 15 by Judge Jon Budelmann to to two concurrent five-year state prison terms for two counts of second-degree assault.
• Samuel D. O'Hara, of Auburn, was sentenced April 15 by Budelmann to three years of probation for first-degree criminal contempt.
• Shawn Mahoney, 44, was sentenced April 18 by Judge Thomas Leone to four years of probation with the first four months in the Cayuga County Jail on weekends for third-degree robbery.Ìý
• Nicholas J. Morfei III, of Auburn, was sentenced April 22 by Budelmann to 364 days in the Cayuga County Jail for second-degree criminal contempt.
•ÌýTimothy Alcock, 47, of Auburn, was sentenced April 24 by Leone to two to four years concurrently for aggravated family offense and second-degree criminal contempt.
•ÌýMichael Katzenstein, 55, of Genoa, was sentenced April 24 by Leone to 10 years of probation with four months of weekends for promoting a sexual performance by a child.
