AUBURN — After knocking on thousands of doors and taking his message to the people, city voters have rewarded Jimmy Giannettino by electing him mayor.Â
Giannettino, a Democrat, defeated Republican candidate Tim Lattimore by 22 percentage points, according to the latest results available from the Cayuga County Board of Elections. Giannettino received 3,058 votes to Lattimore's 1,936.Â
Christina Calarco and Rhoda Overstreet-Wilson will make history as members of the first majority-women city council in Auburn.Â
