CATO - Loren Richardson, 90, of Cato, passed away Friday, May 30, 2025. He was born in Gouverneur, N.Y., January 6, 1935, son of the late Laurence Hall Richardson and Margaret (Peggy) Jones Richardson. He graduated from Morrisville Agricultural and Technical Institute, now known as SUNY Morrisville. He retired from IBM as a customer service engineer.
He was deeply devoted to his wife and family. He loved his pets. Some of his favorite memories were of spending time at hunting camp with his father and brothers and other friends. He was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to any Syracuse team.
He is predeceased by his wife, June Richardson; brother, Gary Richardson; and daughter, Kathy Okun.
Survived by his children, Audrey Michelle Ling of Cato; son, Kevin (Margaret) Richardson; son, Timothy (Stacey) Richardson; brothers, Leon (Joan) Richardson and Alan (Deborah) Richardson; son-in-law, Rick Okun; grandchildren, David Thoryk, Ashley Ling, and Lindsey Richardson; great-grandchildren, Bethany and Amanda Thoryk, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will take place Saturday, June 7, 10 a.m., at Cato Union Hill Cemetery. For those wishing to make contributions in Loren's name, they may do so to a charity or organization of their choosing or to Conquest Fire Department in Conquest, New York.
