Eric J. Groesbeck, 59, of Port Byron, passed away on May 7, 2025 at F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua, N.Y. Born in Auburn on August 16, 1965, Eric was the son of Donald F. and Jean Switzer Groesbeck. He was employed with Gould Pumps in Seneca Falls for 31 years before his retirement. Eric's first love was hunting. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially duck and goose. He had many faithful hunting dogs over the years. Eric had his charter boat license and was also a hunting guide. In the summers he looked forward to riding his Harley. Eric could put 12,000 miles on his bike in one summer. He was also lifetime member of the Cayuga Fire Department.
Eric is survived by his wife, Kelly Groesbeck; his parents, Donald and Jean Groesbeck; sisters, Susan (Carmine Cole) and Linda Salls; his nieces and nephews, Joshua (Devon), Jessica (Zach), Michael, Anna, Andrew, Gracie (Charlie), and Wade; several great nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Joan Rooker and his brother-in-law, Scott (Brenda) Rooker.
Eric was predeceased by his brother, Daniel Groesbeck and his father-in-law, Gerald Rooker.
Calling hours for Eric will be held on Friday, May 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. in White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South Street, Auburn N.Y.
