Wells College has scheduled a presentation to outline the process for selling the campus in Aurora.Ìý
The meeting will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at the Morgan Opera House, 370 Main St., Aurora. The community is invited to attend, according to an email sent by the college.Ìý
College officials and representatives from CBRE, a real estate brokerage firm, will lead the presentation.Ìý
The campus is approximately 127 acres, according to the listing, and has more than 20 buildings, parking lots, tennis courts and a turf field.Ìý
The listing continues, "Its built-in amenities include an athletic center, theater, dining hall, and historic buildings provide a unique opportunity, whether as a turnkey acquisition for another institutional user or as a redevelopment for a creative developer looking to repurpose this beautiful facility."Â
While there is no timetable for when a sale might be completed, college officials expect it could take more than a year.Ìý
There has been interest in acquiring the property, according to updates provided by the college. CBRE will evaluate those proposals and others that are received during the process.Ìý
The college's board of trustees has said the sale of the campus is needed "in order to fulfill our financial and regulatory obligations, and in order to complete the wind-down and dissolution."Â
The dissolution plan must be submitted to the state attorney general's office for approval.Ìý
