East Hill Medical Center in Auburn has made a major real estate聽purchase, and plans to move, expand and improve several of its services there.
The nonprofit community health center closed on the north building at 360 Grant Ave. in Grant Avenue Plaza for $1.3 million in November, according to Cayuga County property records.聽
East Hill's chief operating officer, Jessica Soule, told 水果派AV last month the center hopes to move its adult medicine, dental, behavioral health and other services into the 20,600-square-foot space from its current location at the Metcalf Building at 144 Genesee St. in Auburn. The center expects to begin offering services there in 2027 at the earliest.聽
The new space will provide East Hill's patients more accessibility than the six-story Metcalf Building downtown, Soule said, with more parking, a centralized reception area and no stairs or elevators. It will also allow the center to have more treatment rooms, bring in more care providers, serve more patients and hire more support staff, she continued.聽

"This is a game changer for our organization," she said.
East Hill purchased the building from Tessy Plastics, which began using it in 2020 to test COVID-19 tests it manufactures in Auburn. The building is separate from the one containing Auburn Movieplex 10 and other businesses. It is split into the space Tessy used, Soule said, and two spaces on the other side. The center will convert the entire building to meet its needs.
"We see this as a milestone for this organization that has been serving this community for more than five decades," she said.
"We absolutely want to spend the time and energy to invest in a good, quality building that will serve this community for years to come."聽
East Hill President and CEO April Miles told 水果派AV the center will seek out design work in the coming months. Services at the Metcalf Building will not be interrupted.
"We want to make sure that everyone knows that they can still rely us. You can call us 24 hours a day," she said. "We support them and they can get services."
Soule added that East Hill will also explore the future of its current building over the next year. Selling it after the one in Sennett opens is an option, she said.
The project comes amid others for East Hill, which recently combined its Duckett Family Medicine and Summit Pediatric practices at 13 N. Fulton St. into one primary care office on the upper level there called聽East Hill Family and Pediatric Medicine. That office, which opened earlier this month, will remain at its location. Miles said she's thrilled about both projects.
"We're continuing to meet the needs of the community," she said.
"Our board here is in full support of really making sure that we're making an impact on this community and that we're improving the lives of everyone that we serve."聽
This past December marked a significant milestone 鈥 April Miles' third anniversary as president and CEO of East Hill Medical Center. As we ste…
